In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Mr. Majid Majidi
Distinguished and esteemed artist

Winning the Grand Prize for Best Film at the Busan International Film Festival for the valuable work "A Simple Meal" is a source of joy and pride and once again demonstrated the capacity and capability of Iranian cinema in presenting influential works on the international stage. This award, which comes in the wake of your previous international and national accolades and is owed to your artistic, technical and professional abilities, has once again drawn the admiration of the artistic and cultural community for the creator of enduring works such as "Muhammad: The Messenger of God," "Children of Heaven" and "The Color of Paradise."

Undoubtedly, what gave this event lasting significance was your worthy use of the opportunity to reflect the voice of the oppressed and the authority of the great Iranian nation and to recall a truth that, beyond the clamor and one-sided narratives, remains alive and steadfast: the Iranian nation is a deeply rooted, dignified and resistant nation that stands firm on its identity, independence and dignity in the face of oppressive pressures and impositions.

Conscious and responsible presence in such forums, when accompanied by the language of art and an expression arising from human conscience and devotion to the homeland, can be influential beyond geographical borders and present a more truthful image of the sufferings, resistance and ideals of a nation to the world. Your action in dedicating this honor to the proud people of Iran and honoring the lofty status of mothers of martyrs and the memory of the oppressed martyrs of Minab School and the recent 40-day imposed war is a manifestation of this deep bond between art, national identity and exalted human values.

I, while congratulating you and the great family of Iranian cinema on this valuable success, beseech the Almighty for your ever-increasing success in creating enduring works, worthy presentation of Iranian-Islamic culture and identity, and the elevation of the name of beloved Iran on the world stage.

Mohammad-Hossein Mousavi-Pour
Representative of the Leader and Head of the Islamic Propagation Coordination Council
